SUMMARY PAPER
Musculoskeletal pain conditions are one of the leading contributors to disability worldwide. Contemporary evidence suggests that musculoskeletal practice should incorporate a person-centered approach, including support to self-manage the condition. However, evidence suggests that healthcare providers do not sufficiently integrate person-centered care and self-management into their clinical practice. Moreover, although healthcare providers acknowledge the importance of self-management, they often experience barriers to integrate self-management into their clinical practice. Therefore, in this session a practical approach to including person-centered care and self-management support in musculoskeletal practice will be provided.
