Brona Fullen is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science at UCD. She holds a BSc in Physiotherapy (UUJ), an MSc in Health Care (Acupuncture) from UCD, a Diploma in University Teaching (UCD) and a PhD (UCD). She is an expert in the clinical area of pain management. Her areas of research include the assessment and rehabilitation of people with chronic pain in a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal dysfunction, obesity and spinal cord injury. He has obtained research funding from the European Union, the Health Research Board, the Health Services Executive Board and the pharmaceutical industry. She has supervised MSc and PhD students to completion, and has presented her research at national and international meetings. Brona is founder and Director of the UCD Translational Pain Research Centre. She is a past President of the Irish Pain Society and is currently President of the European Pain Federation EFIC, the first chartered physiotherapist and the first woman to be elected to this position in the history of the organisation.
